Even though Ski-Doo snowmobiles can be bought at stores all over the United States, they are not made there. Bombardier Recreational Products makes Ski-Doo snowmobiles in Quebec, Canada, and ships them all over the world.
BRP, which was started by Joseph-Armand Bombardier in 1937 after he got a patent for the first snowmobile, makes Ski-Doo snowmobiles. Since then, the factory in Valcourt, Quebec, has made more than three million snowmobiles for the company. In 2003, the company went from being called Bombardier, Inc. to being called Bombardier Recreational Products. BRP also makes Sea-Doo personal watercraft, roadsters (three-wheeled motorcycles), and all-terrain vehicles, in addition to its many types of snowmobiles.
