Unit-I Diversity of Living Organisms

Chapter-1: The Living Planet

what’s alive? Bio Diversity; dependence on classification; taxonomy and systematics; theory of species and taxonomic hierarchy; binomial nomenclature; tools for analysis of taxonomy- museums, zoological parks, and herbaria, botanical gardens, keys for identification.

CHAPTER2: Terrible Classification

Five domain classification; Salient characteristics and classification of Monera, Protista and Fungi in to important classes; Lichens, Viruses and Viroids.

Chapter 3: Plant Kingdom

Salient options and classification of plants to major categories – Algae, Bryophyta, Pteridophyta, Gymnosperms and Angiosperms (conspicuous and identifying functions and a couple of samples of each category): Angiosperms – classification upto class, feature functions and examples. Vegetation cycles and alternation of creation

Chapter 4: Animal Kingdom

Foundation of Classification; Salient functions and classification of creatures, non-chordates up-to phyla degree and chordates upto class degree (conspicuous features and differentiating characteristics of a couple samples of each category).

Chapter-11: Transfer in Plants

Movement of gases, water and nutrition; cell to cell transfer – diffusion, facilitated diffusion, active transport; plant-water connections, imbibitionand water potential, osmosis, plasmolysis; cross country transfer of water – Absorption, apoplast, symplast, transpiration extract, origin pressure and guttation; transpiration, opening and closure of stomata; Uptake and translocation of mineral nutrition – Transfer of food, phloem transport, mass flow theory.

Chapter-12: Mineral Nutrition

Elementary concept of hydroponics as a procedure to study nutrient nourishment; crucial nutritional supplements, macro- and micro nutrients and their role; lack symptoms; nutrient toxicity; bile metabolism, nitrogen , biological nitrogen fixation.

Chapter-13: Photosynthesis in Greater Plants

Photosynthesis for a way of autotrophic nutrition; ancient experiments, site of photosynthesis, pigments involved in photosynthesis (basic idea); photo chemical and bio-synthetic stages of photosynthesis; photochemical and non-cyclic photophosphorylation; chemiosmotic theory; photorespiration; C3 and C4 pathways; facets influencing photosynthesis.

Chapter-14: Cellular Respiration

Trade of gases; perform plants breathe; cellular respiration – glycolysis, fermentation (anaerobic), TCA cycle and electron transfer system (aerobic); energy connections – quantity of ATP molecules generated; amphibolic pathways; respiratory quotient.

Chapter-15: Plant – Development and Improvement

Seed germination; traits, dimensions and stages of plant development, growth speed; states for growth; distinction, dedifferentiation and redifferentiation; chain of developmental processes in a plant cell; growth labs – auxin, gibberellin, cytokinin, ethylene, ABA; seed dormancy; vernalisation; photoperiodism. 

Unit-V Individual Physiology 

Chapter-16: Digestion and Absorption

Alimentary tract and adrenal glands, part of adrenal enzymes and pancreatic tissues; Peristalsis, digestion, absorption and assimilation of carbohydrates, proteins and fats; egestion; supplements and gastrointestinal ailments – indigestion, and nausea, nausea, jaundice, diarrhea.  

Chapter-17: Movements and Trade of Gases

Chapter-21: Neural Control and Coordination

Neuron and nerves; nervous-system in humans – central nervous system and peripheral nervous system; creation, conduction and transmission of nerve impulse; nerve activity; sensory understanding; feel organs; basic arrangement and acts of both ear and eye ailments

Chapter-22: Chemical Coordination and Integration

adrenal glands and glands; individual endocrine system – based hypothalamus, adrenal, pineal, thyroid, parathyroid, thymus, adrenalglands, gonads; hormones of both heart, kidney and gastrointestinal tract; mechanism of hormone activity (basic idea); role of hormones because messengers and labs, hypo – and anxiety and related disorders; dwarfism, acromegaly, cretinism, goiter, exophthalmic goiter, diabetes, and Addison’s illness.
