Apple Authentic Movies introduced as we speak that the critically acclaimed, award-winning movie CODA will debut in theaters and on Apple TV+ on Friday, 13 August.

Written and directed by Siân Heder (Tallulah, Little America), CODA was offered in the US Dramatic Competitors class on the 2021 Sundance Movie Competition and went on win 4 awards on the competition: the Particular Jury Award for Ensemble Solid, the Directing Award, the Viewers Award and the Grand Jury Prize.

CODA stars Emilia Jones, Eugenio Derbez, Troy Kotsur, Ferdia Walsh-Peelo, Daniel Durant, Amy Forsyth, Kevin Chapman, and Academy-Award winner Marlee Matlin.

CODA, a remake of the French movie La Famille Belier, captures the inner wrestle of 17-year-old Ruby (Jones), who helps her deaf mother and father and brother run the household’s fishing enterprise however desires of going to music college and pursuing a singing profession. Inspired by her enthusiastic, tough-love choirmaster (Derbez) to apply to a prestigious music college, Ruby finds herself torn between the obligations she feels to her household and the pursuit of her personal desires.
