The sketch made by Kundan depicts all the medal winning players of Tokyo Olympics. The special thing about this sketch is the combination of its colors and seeing it, you cannot believe who has made it by a color blind person. Yes, the name of that talented painter is Kundan Kumar Roy.

Kundan while talking to Jansatta.com said, ‘I have color blindness. I cannot see many colors properly like red, green, pink, brown, brown, maroon, blue etc. Often I do freestyle paintings without anyone’s help. Sometimes I take the help of my sister or niece for the actual color painting.

The Indian government has also accepted the iron of Kundan’s talent. Many of his paintings are often promoted by the Indian government. The painting honoring the Olympic winners has also been shared by the Ministry of Culture on its official Twitter handle. Apart from this, on the occasion of National Voters’ Day in 2021, Kundan Roy was also awarded the state level award by the Bihar government in Patna for a painting made to make voters aware.

Inspiration for painting from mother in childhood

He further said, ‘As a child, he learned painting by making beautiful designs on his mother’s feet. After this, he started making Mithila paintings based on the songs of Padma Bhushan Sharda Sinha. After making Mithila painting, Padma Bhushan was presented to Sharda Sinha ji by making a picture of her own.

Started painting after leaving job after MBA

Kundan wanted to become an artist since childhood. He passed B.Sc in Biology. Then he also studied MBA, but still his focus was only on art. Often when God wants to give you something, he definitely makes some changes in life that hurt you, but in the future, these changes make your life successful.

The same happened with Kundan. While Kundan was working in Nagpur, in the meantime his mother living in Samastipur became very ill. Due to mother’s illness, Kundan had to leave his job in Nagpur. They came and started living in Samastipur. From here once more he had got a chance in his life to advance himself in the art world.

Kundan, who is constantly battling with genetic disorders like color blindness, said, ‘The color blind does not have a disability but still has such a disease due to which he could not fill the forms of many government jobs many times. Some people salute, respect my works, while some people laugh, ridicule and say that what will be the future of an artist in this era of modernity? But my confidence increases with the ridicule of people. I am continuing on my duty path.

Describing his dream, Kundan said, ‘I want to take blessings from the honorable Prime Minister by presenting my painting made on voter awareness and for the upliftment of the youth, for our nation, while walking on the path of my duty. I want to dedicate my life for the society and in the field of art. I want to bring Samastipur to the international level in the field of art. Which is my big dream.

It is said that if you have a strong will power to do something, then nothing can become a hindrance in your path. Kundan showed this by doing the same. Those who made color blindness their strength and made their new identity with colors only. Today, Kundan is a successful artist as well as a motivational speaker who inspires people to have the courage to fight like himself.
