Connecticut Gov. Ned Lamont isolates after staffer will get COVID-19
Connecticut’s Gov. Ned Lamont introduced Friday he’ll start self-quarantining after a senior staffer examined optimistic for COVID-19.
“The governor will instantly start the method of self-quarantining, as will a number of members of the governor’s senior employees,” his workplace stated in an announcement obtained by the Connecticut Submit.
The unidentified staffer has not proven signs, and has been residence in isolation, the governor’s workplace stated.
It’s unclear whether or not Lamont had been in shut contact with the staffer, however his workplace stated contact-tracing efforts have been underway.
“We’re taking this case significantly and observing all protocols to maintain the governor, his household, and all of our employees members and their households protected,” Chief of Employees Paul Mounds stated in an announcement.
“Whereas that is the primary case inside our administration, tens of hundreds of Connecticut residents have skilled COVID-19, and hundreds of others have misplaced their lives.
Mounds famous that Lamont and his senior employees get examined twice every week — and there have been no different recognized circumstances as of Friday.
Lamont’s self-quarantine comes after a number of different states’ high lawmakers have battled the infectious illness.
Nevada Gov. Steve Sisolak, Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine, Oklahoma Gov. Kevin Stitt and Virginia Gov. Ralph Northam have all examined optimistic for the virus.
