If you work and contribute to Provident Fund (PF), then read this news carefully. If you do not link your Universal Account Number (UAN) with Aadhaar by September 1, you may face problems in withdrawing money.
The Employees’ Provident Fund Organization (EPFO) has made it mandatory to link UAN with Aadhaar. If the UAN number of an employee is not linked with Aadhaar, then he may have to face many problems including company contribution to his PF account, withdrawal of money. Earlier, the last date for linking UAN account with Aadhaar by EPFO was June 1. Later this date was extended to 1 September 2021. The EPFO has said that if the UAN is not linked with Aadhaar by September 1, then the company’s benefits to the employee will be stopped.
UAN Aadhaar can be linked in these ways: The EPFO has said that members can link their Aadhaar with UAN in several ways. This includes online-offline as well as SMS, e-mail, telephone calls. EPFO has appealed to all the members and employers to complete the process of linking Aadhaar with UAN by September 1. This process is being done under the Social Security Code. This code was passed by Parliament last year.
Here is the complete process of online UAN-Aadhaar linking
- First of all go to EPFO website www.epfindia.gov.in.
- Here, by going to the Online Services tab, click on E-KYC Portal.
- Here enter your Aadhaar number and wait for One Time Password (OTP).
- After that re-enter the Aadhar number. Also verify the OTP.
- After this complete process your PF account will be linked with Aadhaar.
You can file e-nomination sitting at home: EPFO has also simplified the process of e-nomination for employees. Now employees can file e-nomination through online. This work can be done sitting at home. You can file e-nomination by visiting https://unifiedportal-mem.epfindia.gov.in/memverinterface.
Distribution of Rs 24,897 crore in Corona period: According to EPFO data, a total of 72.44 lakh claims have been settled from 1 April 2020 to 30 June 2021. Under this, Rs 24,897 crore has been distributed to the members of PF. According to the EPFO, an amount of Rs 1008.93 crore has been given as monthly pension in June 2021 alone. In this month, 30,704 new pensioners have been linked to the EPS scheme.
