Florida lady arrested for threatening to ‘shoot’ state politicians
A Florida lady was arrested Saturday for threatening to “shoot” Gov. Ron DeSantis and Sens. Marco Rubio and Rick Scott in a tweet, a report stated Monday.
The lady, 55-year-old Karen Jones of Palm Seashore County, allegedly posted within the tweet: ““DeSantis, Rick Scott and Marco Rubio are looting my state. Imma shoot them,” the Miami Herald reported.
The tweet was retweet of a Washington Publish reporter who had shared an article about proposed “anti-mob” laws that may broaden Florida’s “stand your floor legislation.”
Jones, a registered Democrat, was busted by Palm Seashore County deputies and allegedly admitted to writing the tweet, however stated it was a joke, the Herald reported.
In an affidavit after her arrest, a Palm Seashore County detective famous there was nothing within the message to recommend Jones was joking, in response to the report.
“After I made the statement that there have been no generally used terminology to indicate the submit was a joke, Jones said that anybody who follows her is aware of her humorousness,” the detective wrote.
