Florida girl charged with abandoning sick child on doorstep
A Florida girl allegedly deserted her sick 3-month-old son on the doorstep of a stranger’s house over the weekend, authorities stated.
Melissa Kelley, 33, is accused of dropping off her child in his automotive seat on Patricia Tillman’s porch Sunday evening saying she couldn’t look after the toddler any longer, the Dayton Seashore Information-Journal reported.
Kelley, of Astor, warned Tillman the infant had scabies — an infestation of the pores and skin attributable to a tiny burrowing mite — and that he had a unclean diaper, the outlet reported citing a police report.
She added that the kid’s father would choose him up earlier than she ran off.
Tillman ultimately realized that the infant’s father was her daughter’s boyfriend, Clayton Zinck.
When investigators reached Zinck’s mother and father they stated they wouldn’t take the infant, the outlet reported.
The police report states that Kelley threatened to hurt her child boy, texting kinfolk, “please don’t make me throw this child within the trash,” and that she was going to kill herself as a result of she wasn’t in a relationship with Zinck.
Kelley has been charged with illegal desertion of a kid and little one neglect. The boy was taken by little one companies and handled at a neighborhood hospital.
