The Nice British Bake Off has reportedly been hit with 37 Ofcom complaints over host Noel Fielding’s crude jokes on the present.

On final week’s episode, the co-host, 47, had an ongoing joke involving a baking utensil which he drew a fake face on and referred to as Mr Spoon.

Speaking to contestant Peter with the utensil, Noel joked: ‘Do you want Mr Spoon?’ to which Peter exclaimed: ‘I really like him!’

With Peter laughing awkwardly and co-host Matt Lucas replying: ‘Okay, much more motive to dislike Mr Spoon.’

Elsewhere on the present, which had a dessert theme, Noel and Matt introduced to the bakers that they needed to make a jelly artwork design cake as their showstopper. 

When Matt requested what Noel would design if he was participating, he joked: ‘A nude sculpture of Paul Hollywood’, he added that the creation would have ‘lime nipples’.

An Ofcom spokesperson advised The Solar that they’d obtained 37 complaints over ‘sexual references made by Noel Fielding’. 

Taking to Twitter after the scenes aired, some viewers complained that Noel’s jokes had been ‘inappropriate’.

One individual mentioned: ‘This may simply be me, however I feel Noel saying that Mr Spoon wished to see Peter bare was crossing a line of fine style and appropriateness. Would he say that a few feminine contestant? #GBBO #TheGreatBritishBakingShow.’ 

One other present watcher commented: ‘Am I the one one weirded out by Noel saying he’d make a unadorned sculpture of Paul and eager to see Pater bare? #GBBO.’

MailOnline has contacted Ofcom, Noel Fielding and Channel 4 representatives for remark. 

This is not the one time the present has come below hearth and in October GBBO was hit with ’15 Ofcom complaints’ after some viewers discovered the week’s Japanese theme ‘racist’.  

The contestants had been tasked with creating treats for ‘Japanese week’, with one beginner baker styling her items to seem like Pandas – leaving followers of the Channel 4 present offended.

An Ofcom spokesperson reportedly advised The Solar that they obtained 15 complaints concerning the episode – with 5 being concerning the ‘racist’ theme. 

MailOnline contacted Ofcom and Channel 4 for a remark on the time. 

The present was additionally hit by 18 Ofcom complaints earlier in October when decide Paul Hollywood mentioned rainbow-coloured bagels represented the NHS and failed to say the importance of the rainbow flag within the LGBTQ+ neighborhood.

The Nice British Bake Off continues on Tuesdays at 8pm on Channel 4.
