As of 2015, children under 5 who are with an adult can ride the Sandia Peak Tramway for free. The company also sells season tickets, which cost about $12 to $20 each. Prices for tickets depend on how old you are, and customers with valid military IDs can get a discount. For groups of more than 20 people, you can get a discount if you call the tramway before you go. The company doesn’t give refunds, and prices can change at any time.
The Sandia Peak Tramway lets people see the Rio Grande Valley canyons from above. The tramway is on the east side of Albuquerque and goes for about 2.7 miles. Tram rides from one dock to the next usually take 15 minutes, and the Tramway is open all year, except when it is closed for maintenance. Once the ride gets to the top of Sandia Peak, people can walk through the Cibola National Forest on the trails.
