Healthfirst.org says that you can call the toll-free number at any time of day or night, seven days a week, to activate your OTC Medicare card. You can also activate your card by going to Otcnetwork.com.
The Healthfirst website says that in order to activate your OTC Medicare card, you must give your date of birth, your Healthfirst Medicare Plan member ID, and the OTC card number, which is usually printed on the front of your card.
Once the card has been activated, look for a store or pharmacy that takes part. After you find one, you can choose the items you want to buy that are eligible. Healthfirst says that you don’t have to go to the pharmacy window and you don’t need a prescription to buy what you want. You can use the card at any Family Dollar, Rite Aid, CVS, Duane Reade, Walgreen, and many other nearby pharmacies. Visit the Otcnetwork website to see a list of all the stores and pharmacies that are taking part. You can also call Member Service representatives for free from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., seven days a week.
Pay at the front of the store to finish your business. Bring all the eligible items you want to buy to the front of the store and swipe your card at your preferred register when you pay. Healthfirst says that purchases of eligible items will automatically take money from your card balance.
