As of July 2015, you can look up a company in the online BBB directory at BBB.org to find out what the Better Business Bureau says about it. On a scale from A+ to F, the BBB gives its approved businesses a grade.
Click on BBB Directory on the BBB.org home page. Type the name of the business into the search bar and do a search. You can narrow down the results by putting in where the business is. In the search bar, you can also type in a business’s URL, phone number, or email address. To look for businesses in a certain category, click on Category above the search bar, type in the category, and do a search.
If you enter a location, you can set a search radius by clicking on the arrow next to Distance and choosing an option from the drop-down menu.
On BBB.org, each business page has the business’s name, phone number, address, and website address (URL). If the business is accredited by the BBB, its BBB rating and the date it became accredited are listed on the page. The page also lists the things that go into the BBB rating and any complaints or reviews that customers have sent to the BBB. Under the heading “Additional Information,” you can find more information about the business, such as its products or services, its other names, and how to get in touch with its main employees.
