How Do You Look up a Remington Serial Number?

Utilize Remington Serial Number Lookup to look up a Remington serial number. This service determines the age of Remington rifles and shotguns based on the two-letter codes imprinted on the barrel. You can also discover the serial number on the rifle’s receiver and email Remington support to seek an approximate age estimate.

If it is a modern model, a serial number is imprinted on the receiver of every Remington rifle or shotgun. Before 1968, serial numbers were not required, therefore vintage firearms may lack serial numbers.

The two-letter code on the barrel of the rifle or shotgun can still be used to determine the age of the firearm. This code is found immediately in front of the receiver on the left side of the barrel. B signifies January, L represents February, and so on. The next one or two letters indicate the manufacturing year, which can be retrieved using the Remington Serial Number Lookup. The code on the barrel of shotguns with detachable barrels indicates the date of manufacturing of the barrel, which may not coincide with the date of manufacture of the receiver.
