This feature was never intended to be a part of the game, thus players must enter a GameShark or Action Replay code to walk through walls. Using a code to walk past walls may therefore cause the game to stall, crash, or trap the player.
Both exploits need the activation of a “master code” before entering the code that permits wall-walking. It may be necessary to disable all other hacks for the code to function.
