How Does the BillMatrix Bill Pay System Work?

The BillMatrix bill pay system lets people pay their bills without giving their financial information to businesses. BillMatrix is a third-party payment processor, and people who use the service pay a fee to BillMatrix.

When a customer uses BillMatrix to set up a payment, BillMatrix sets up the payment for the customer. BillMatrix takes the money out of the bank account of the customer and sends it to the business. This can take one or more business days, and the customer may have to wait for the payment to show up in their business account. Monday through Friday, BillMatrix sends the payment information to the business before 6:00 p.m. CST. Up to three business days may be needed to take the money out of the customer’s bank account or credit card.

When customers use the BillMatrix bill pay system, they can pay with a checking account, a debit card, or a Discover credit card. As of April 2015, Discover credit card transactions cost $12.95, while checking account and debit card transactions cost $5.00.

BillMatrix is a system for paying bills that is used by a number of businesses, including Nissan, which makes cars. BillMatrix also says that its payments are safe because the company is part of the VeriSign Secure Site Program.
