Is There a Virtual McDonald’s Cash Register for Practicing at Home?

McDonald’s engaged Kineo in 2014 to develop an online cash register application that crew members could use to become more familiar with their restaurants’ point-of-sale systems. The virtual cash register is accessible through the employee login website of McDonald’s.

Kineo is well-known for creating addicting games and interactive training solutions for corporations like McDonald’s. Kineo’s programme for McDonald’s functions similarly to a computer game, with lifelines and bonuses that the user may earn by playing well. Examples of bonuses include the Perfection bonus, which is awarded when a user completes an order with a perfect score, and the 3 on the Bounce bonus, which is awarded when a player processes three consecutive correct orders.

Statistics supplied by McDonald’s indicate that 85 percent of crew members hired by the corporation have utilised the virtual cash register to polish their abilities at home, despite not being required training for McDonald’s employees. Among the most frequently claimed benefits of this application are that it fosters a spirit of friendly rivalry among crew members and allows them to become comfortable with the cash register without having to contact with customers. At the 2014 ELearning Awards, the application got the gold prize.
