PM Narendra Modi released the 9th instalment of PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Scheme amid Farm Laws Issue
PM Narendra Modi on Monday (August 9, 2021) released another installment of financial benefits under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) scheme. Through video conferencing from New Delhi, he transferred 19,509 crores to the accounts of 9.75 crore farmers.
Union Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar was also present during the program. After releasing the amount, the PM also interacted with the farmer beneficiaries. PM said, “This time the country is going to celebrate 75th Independence Day. We have to take this opportunity to decide where we want to see India in the coming 25 years. When the country completes 100 years of independence in 2047, then our agriculture, farmers have a big role in deciding what will be the condition of India. According to Modi, “We have to work fast for our country to be self-sufficient in edible oil. National Edible Oil Mission-Oil Palm has now been resolved for self-reliance in edible oil. Through this mission, more than Rs 11,000 crore will be invested in the cooking oil ecosystem.”
He further said, today India has reached the top-10 countries of the world for the first time in terms of agricultural exports. The country has set new records of agricultural exports during the Corona period. Today, when India is becoming recognized as a major agricultural exporting country, then it is not appropriate that we depend on imports for the needs of edible oil.
Explain that under the PM Kisan scheme, a financial benefit of Rs 6000 per year is given to the eligible beneficiary farmer families and this financial benefit is provided in three installments of Rs 2000 every four months.
