Punjab increases night curfew by two hours from 9 pm to 5 am to tackle COVID-19 surge
Stating that the coronavirus scenario in Punjab is essential, chief minister Amarinder Singh warned individuals of extra stringent measures if they do not comply with precautionary protocol
Chandigarh: Amid rising instances of COVID-19 in Punjab, Chief Minister Amarinder Singh on Thursday introduced a two-hour extension within the night curfew within the state’s 9 worst-affected districts.
Singh mentioned the coronavirus(*9*) scenario within the state is essential and warned individuals of stringent measures if they do not comply with COVID acceptable behaviour. “I will not be straightforward on the individuals. Folks could not prefer it, but it surely’s my obligation,” the chief minister mentioned.
He expressed hope that each one residents will cooperate and cling to the restrictions. “For God’s sake, save the lives of Punjabis,” he urged the residents of the state.

The night curfew will now be in place from 9 pm to 5 am, as an alternative of 11 pm to 5 am, in Ludhiana, Jalandhar, Patiala, Mohali, Amritsar, Gurdaspur, Hoshiarpur, Kapurthala and Rupnagar. All these districts have been reporting greater than 100 instances on a regular basis.
