‘Metal Magnolias’ actress Carol Sutton useless of COVID-19 at 76
Actress Carol Sutton has died. She was 76.
Sutton, identified for her roles in “Metal Magnolias” and the 2019 movie “Poms,” died Friday resulting from issues of COVID-19, New Orleans Mayor LaToya Cantrell introduced.
“Carol Sutton was virtually the Queen of New Orleans theater, having graced the levels throughout the town for many years,” Cantrell Tweeted of the Massive Simple native.
“We are going to all the time keep in mind her commanding stage presence, her richly portrayed characters, and the nice and cozy coronary heart she shared together with her fellow solid and crew in productions similar to ‘4000 Miles’ and ‘A Raisin within the Solar.’ Could she relaxation in God’s excellent peace.”
Sutton had an in depth filmography, with roles within the 2001 film “Monster’s Ball,” the 2011 movie “The Assist” and “The Final Exorcism” in 2010, amongst others courting again to the Seventies.
Director of the TV sequence “Queen Sugar,” Ava DuVernay, eulogized Sutton following her loss of life.
