Tottenham ´only a pony´ in Premier League title race? Lampard disagrees with Mourinho
Chelsea head coach Frank Lampard disagreed with Jose Mourinho’s evaluation that Tottenham had been “only a pony” within the Premier League title race.
Spurs returned to the highest of the Premier League desk following Sunday’s 0-0 draw at Stamford Bridge.
However Mourinho was eager to minimize his staff’s title probabilities after they collected a thirteenth level in 5 Premier League away video games to start the season – their most since 1991-92.
“We aren’t even within the race so we aren’t a horse. We’re the small, younger horse – a pony. We’re only a pony, and also you see the distinction,” he instructed reporters.
“Joe Rodon was taking part in for Swansea. Thiago Silva was for a few years and nonetheless is likely one of the greatest centre-backs on this planet. And possibly one month of Thiago’s wage pays Joe a yr’s wage. So, calm.
“I’m very pleased with Joe, very pleased with the profile, and to be with my wonderful teaching workers – Joao [Sacramento], Ledley [King], all these guys – teaching and educating these guys, and dealing with Joe has been a pleasure.
“I simply really feel sorry he can’t play within the Europa League as a result of it might be a terrific degree of expertise for him, and I imagine the largest sport he performed earlier than this one was Championship play-offs and a Wales nationwide staff match, so I’m very happy that he may come right here and for 90 minutes he made one mistake.
“[Eric] Dier made extra errors than him, particularly in ball possession, so I’m very pleased with my staff, very pleased with my guys, very pleased with this mentality – that we come to Stamford Bridge, we get a degree, we’re prime of the league, and we aren’t glad.”
