A professional affiliation is a group or organisation that a person joins because they work in a certain field. The American Nurses Association is one group that a nurse could join. Affiliations can range from paid membership to active participation in group activities or leadership positions.
People often put a section on their resumes called “Professional Affiliations.” If a hiring manager sees that a person is involved in professional groups, it may show that they are really interested in their job. It also shows a desire to do more than what is expected at work. A person can also be an officer in the organisation with which it is linked.
