The goal of ESPN3 is to give people access to a lot more programming than what ESPN can show on its main channels. For example, ESPN can’t show more than one game per channel at each time slot during the day on a Saturday in the fall. In addition to the games that are shown nationally on ESPN, ESPN2, and ESPNU, ESPN3 lets the company show games that may only be interesting to people in a certain area or niche.
