According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, baseball scouts earned a median annual salary of $28,360 in 2012. Scouts with a college degree made the highest, with a median salary of $39,960.

In 2012, the lowest 10% of baseball scouts earned less than $17,210, while the wealthiest 10% earned more than $65,910. Arkansas had the highest median salary for scouts and coaches at $45,800 per year, while Maine had the lowest at $18,100. St. Petersburg College MLB scouts earned between $15,000 and $100,000 based on their expertise, skill, and track record of uncovering exceptional players. Each team in the Major League Baseball employs its own talent scouts and advance scouts.
