A person of any age, including 13-year-olds, has an average IQ of 100. Normal IQ scores are between 85 and 115, and they compare how well people of the same age did on a certain test. The results of the test are then compared to a standard and put on a bell curve.
The only things that IQ tests don’t measure are creativity, practical intelligence, curiosity, or social readiness. Labels based on IQ are based on the number of standard deviations from 100. Scores between 115 and 130 are above average, while scores between 70 and 84 are on the edge of mental disability. If your score is over 130, you are gifted. If your score is below 70, you have a mental disability.
