History.com says that the rhyme about Lizzie Borden and how she killed her parents goes like this: “Lizzie Borden took an axe and hit her mother forty times. When she saw what she had done, she hit her father forty-one times.”
Lizzie Borden’s parents were found dead at their home in Fall River, Massachusetts, on August 4, 1892. A hatchet was used to cut up the bodies of Andrew and Abby Borden. Lizzie was the main person of interest because she bought an axe before the murders and burned a dress afterward. Lizzie wasn’t found guilty of killing her parents because there wasn’t enough proof. There were no other people who were suspected of killing the people.
