Dublin Tourist says that “Dublin 1” followed by the street code is the postal code for northern central Dublin. The streets in the southern central part of Dublin have a street code and the postal code “Dublin 2.”
The street codes that come after “Dublin 1” or “Dublin 2” are based on where the street is. Addresses on the north side of the Liffey river have odd numbers, and addresses on the south side of the river have even numbers.
There are street numbers 1, 5, 7, 9, 11, 13, 15, and 17 in northern central Dublin. The street codes for southern central Dublin are 2, 6W, 8, 10, 12, 14, 16, 18, 20, 22, and 24.
