What’s on Disney Plus: Movies and Shows for August 2020
Disney Plus is keeping its quarantine content coming. Shows like “Muppets Now,” which premieres on July 31, will continue their weekly single-episode release schedule, while other series will drop in bulk throughout the month.
Blockbuster “The Greatest Showman,” which won a Golden Globe and scored an original song Academy Award nomination, will be available on the platform on Aug. 14. The musical film is sure to be a hit, based solely on the enormous streaming success the two versions of the soundtrack have found.
The 2017 live-action reboot of “Beauty and the Beast” is also set to make its Disney Plus debut on Aug. 21. The remake stars Emma Watson as Belle, Dan Stevens as Beast, Luke Evans as Gaston and Josh Gad as LeFou.
Other films coming to the streaming site are “X-Men,” “The Peanuts Movie” and “Phineas and Ferb The Movie: Candace Against the Universe.” Disney Plus originals will also air throughout August, with family-friendly content like “Magic Camp,” about a summer camp for young magicians.
