In addition to New York, Los Angeles, and Chicago, ING Bank operates offices in Atlanta, Dallas, and Houston. Because ING lacks a commercial banking licence in the United States, it does not engage in retail commercial banking activities there.
Instead, ING’s wholesale banking operations in the United States are conducted through its subsidiary, ING Financial Holdings Corporation, which provides wholesale commercial lending, corporate financing, and financial markets services. ING Bank is a subsidiary of the Dutch financial conglomerate ING Group. As of 2012, it has banking operations in over 40 countries and generates $150 billion annually. ING Direct, its branchless banking brand, operates in Australia, Austria, and France, in addition to Germany, Italy, and Spain.
